"I would like to thank you and your wife for all the help you gave me on the Black Prince cruise. I enjoyed your talks and I found the workshops extremely informative and helpful. They were, of course, one-to-one tuition.

Although I have been using computers for twenty years or so, my use has been very limited - word processing, spreadsheets, investment programmes, e-mail and the web. So your help with introducing me to Powerpoint and other things was much appreciated".
Hugh Ellwood, Guest Lecturer

"By popular demand from the passengers, Owain and Alvina Williams were called back again and again to board ship and give their excellent computer classes. The result for novices, and the more advanced alike was a great increase in skill and enthusiasm for the teaching methods of their tutors, Owain and Alvina".
Father Tim Brien, Chaplain, RTW Cruises, MV Van Gogh

"Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful world of computers, and for bringing me into the 21st century as far as computing is concerned! During my two Round the World cruises (a period of 6mths) on the Van Gogh, I thoroughly enjoyed and benefited greatly from attending your computer classes.

When I started my cruise in Oct 2007, I was totally computer illiterate. Your classes however changed all that. Your classes were excellent, informative, clear and concise. The handouts enabled me to do work in the cabin and practice what you had taught me – I still refer to them today!

Only as a direct result of your tuition, I am now able to email, use the internet, make a movie from my pictures, I know how to file and store photographs, work with Word and much much more. What’s more all of this was free to the Van Gogh passengers!!! I sincerely hope this service is long continued on cruise ships so that other passengers like myself can benefit from your expertise.

Last but certainly not least, thank you for the after-cruise support and advice that you have given me. You have been at the end of a phone call whenever I needed your help. All that remains to say is thank you for providing such a wonderful service."
Angela Morris (passenger Oct 2007- April 2008)

" Without your help and input on the Van Gogh I would still be computer illiterate, for which I thank you most sincerely. It does seem a pity that us 'old fogeys' seem to be written off where PCs are concerned and yet we still have a lot to offer having been here longer."
Chris Simon, Van Gogh passenger 2007/8

"Barbara and Gilmour Pemberton have organised almost fifty caravan rallies for the North Wales Centre of the Caravan Club. On one rally some two years ago at Llandanwg, Harlech, Barbara and Gilmour thought they would try something new in the programme. They had heard that Owain and Alvina had been giving presentations about the Internet, computers and  mobile phones whilst they were cruising on the 'Van Gogh' How could they possibly do something like this on a holiday caravan rally in glorious countryside and without a source of electricity ? But they did !!

Using their generator and other components, the couple attracted an audience of some 20 people seated near their caravan and awning and gave a most interesting and informative presentation. Most of the 20 persons had no idea how computers and mobile phones operated, but after some 'hands on' instruction, there followed a question and answer session which took the best part of 4 hours.

And so it continued for the rest of the week.... Gilmour in particular owes a great deal to Owain and Alvina for their professional approach and patience."

Barbara and Gilmour Pemberton

"Owain and Alvina Williams were brilliant. They did not only know about computers they knew everything about mobile phones and digital cameras. They taught me lots of things about what you can do on computers. They helped me tremendously - I do miss them now. I hope they will have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."

Love from Joan, Van Gogh World Cruise 2008

"Found Owain and Alvina most friendly, patient and helpful. I came with a laptop unable to use it and their wonderful manner has given me the confidence to use it. I wish I had learned more from them. They were so helpful too with mobile phones and cameras which again I was not familiar with."

Chris, Van Gogh Computer Club

"Owain and Alvina - excellent, knowledgeable, good idea."

DJ, Van Gogh passenger November 2007

"I can honestly say that the first time I ever sat in front of a computer was on the Braemar cruise to the Caribbean in 2010. During my working career I was offered a computer course, and at the time could see no future in it. That was many moons ago, as I am now aged 85!."

Gordon Morris-Goodman

"Thank you for your enthusiasm shown in your classic car talks on the Braemar."

Terry Stogdale
